UC Berkeley Pilipinx Cultural Night (PCN) 48

One of the most notable showcases of Filipino-American cultural identity throughout colleges in the US is Filipino Cultural Night (PCN), where students create and develop an entire show over the school year to be performed in the Spring. Born out of the Third World Liberation Front that also created the college-level Ethnic Studies programs, PCN was originally a set of cultural dances and songs more akin to a recital, but evolved over the years into a fully-fledged theater production with acting, modern dance choreography as well as cultural, choir and band, set design, and more.

I joined PCN’s Creative Team (CT) in my first year transferring into UC Berkeley, which is considerably more involvement than what most students typically do in their own first years. What can I say though, I had an itch to get into some music work, and the producers Melody and Giselle trusted me enough to join.

Shoutout to my co-producer Tyrell (Ty), our lead producer Isaiah (Zay), PCN 48 CT and our leaders/producers Melody and Giselle, and all-cast.
